That's why it is about stereotypes but also why I said it insulted
everybody equally, so was probably safe to post.

Not only that, it is a rather old joke; so quite subject to change.

But then wasn't it in, say Monty Python and the Holy Grail where the
Fenchmen were complaining about all that heavy English food?
