There must be other schools of magic in America dating from long
before the '50's. Consider: There is probably one in Massachusetts,
near Salem or Marblehead; one in South Carolina near the old Gullah
settlements, which were probably heavily magical; and several in the
Southwest. Native Americans (very few Muggles among them)may have trained
in the apprenticeship model but may now have founded schools.
I'm sure you are right about Noveuxbatons in Quebec, and I'm sure the
Arcadians founded one in Louisiana somewhere. It may not be right in
New Orleans, but instead way out in the bayou...
