I don't know what Harry thought he was planning to do, but I am sure
that there are ways to kill people by magic other than using a death
curse. For example, to levitate a person to a great height and then let
them drop. Or maybe Harry was planning to paralyze Sirius in order to
kill him by Muggle technology.
