Yesterday I made my friend Lee up things up in her various English-French
dictionaries. My conclusion is that the French edition surely says
'sorcier' for 'wizard' and 'sorciere' for 'witch' and 'sortileges' for
'spells', and I can't *imagine* what they say for 'warlock'.

Also, 'wand' is baguette and 'staff' is 'baton'. I really should go look
up the names of the different loaves of French bread to confirm whether
a baton is bigger than a baguette.
