While it is a totally non-fantasy book (in the sense of no magic):
a delightfully fun book, set in English public schools, which might
resonate with some readers, is good old Rudyard Kipling's _Stalky and
Co._: quite hilarious.

For a sweet vision of the same thing, from the teacher's POV, there is
always James Hilton of _Lost Horizon_ fame: _Goodbye, Mr. Chips_.
