I'm not sure why you think Christianity and magic can't mix. I suppose it
depends on the type of Christianity and the type of magic. If Elizabeth
I's court magician Dr. Dee hadn't been a Christian, he would have been
burned at the stake (for not being a Christian, not for doing magic).
