I agree. When I read, I tend to go straight for scenes with dialogue
(inner or outer), but skim impatiently over action-only scenes (Quidditch
games, battles, etc), just getting the general gist of what happened. This
is just my general preference, not just for the HP books.
When listening to tapes, however, I never use the fast-forward button
to skim over scenes. I just listen to the whole think, and discover what
I've missed.
