After painful experiences involving crushes on real-life celebrities (who
always end up behaving in dishonorable ways), I've decided to limit my
mad crushes to fictional characters only. It's much more satisfying. And
believe me, you are not alone -- I belong to another book group where a
significant number of us are constantly dreaming about possessing the
dashing hero for our very own. (See, kids, you never really grow up,
if you don't want to!)
