I distinctly remember reading "The Razor's Edge," by Somerset Maugham,
in high school. Just recently I re-read the book. It was like reading
an entirely new story. The experiences I have been through during the
last 30 years gave an entirely new dimension to this book (one of my
all-time favs). THAT'S why adults annoy teenagers so much by saying
things like "You're too young to understand." We don't think you are
stupid or naive, we just know that you'll probably have an entirely
different perspective and reaction to the same issues after you've had
a few decades of experience under your belt.
I've got to go and take my Geritol now....
