Ron stated: "Bill's old robes, Charlie's old wand, and Percy's old
rat." It is "a very battered-looking wand. It was chipped in places
and something white was glinting at the end. 'Unicorn hair's nearly
poking out.'"

On some e-mail-list, I questioned how Charlie's wand got so worn out in
just seven years, and people suggested that it had been a hand-me-down
even when Charlie first got it, maybe from a great-uncle.
