It's been a common thread around here, actually, Many (read back posts
and you'll see). Yes, I agree... it was definitely darker then the
previous three books. But for me, that only served to verify that the
books weren't necessarily slated for young children as I had originally
thought when I picked up the first one. And, truth be told, when you
compare it to The Hobbit/Lord of The Rings with their various themes,
it's really not all that bad.
Books 1-3 kept me thinking I was crazy for being so addicted to these
"books for kids." 4 convinced me these were books for everyone, including
adults. :-)
