I made an obvious mistake in my previous post. It's not 300 new members
a year, because that's the whole school population. It's about 40 new
members. Hogsmeade is the only "**entirely**
magical settlement in Britain; the books are silent on whether there
are places for wizards to shop elsewhere. Nevertheless, I'm obviously
swimming upstream on the size of the student body issue.

BTW, a poster on another board said that, in the British version of the
audiobook, Stephen Fry gave Hagrid a Dorset accent, which she didn't
think worked for Hagrid. As a Dorset man, do you agree?
