<<He seemed to have done only the minimum to get what V wanted. It was
as if he was careful not to hurt him too much, which brings me back to
the point of Wormtail feeling indebted to Harry.>>

<But if he *really* wanted to do the minimum, couldn't he have taken
the blood from Harry's injured leg? It was already bleeding.>

I'm fairly new, so here's my two thousand Galleons on these over-discussed
topics:

1) Why didn't Wormtail wound Harry more seriously? Well, Wormtail is a
coward. Sirius reminded me of that as I was listening to PoA in my car
this week. Cowards don't do anything unless they see what's in it for
them. Wormtail *knew* that Voldy wanted the satisfaction of finishing
off Harry, and that the Evil One's satisfaction would be considerably
diminished by fighting a seriously wounded opponent.

2) The gleam in Dumbledore's eye is NOT indicative of his wickedness. When
has Dumbledore EVER been anything but a father figure to Harry? I
just smiled when I first read it--it was one of those Dumbledore "I
know something you don't know that will help later on" moments. (BTW,
this is the first and last time I will ever comment on that particular
topic.) Don't be paranoid, folks--Dumbledore's one of us.
