Well, I guess that whole "we're not to let muggles know we exist",
has a catch to say that relatives can know. If you think about it,
don't children of Muggle parentage need permission to go to hogwarts
from their parents and guardians? I guess the biggest reason that rule
is there is so that Muggles won't try and use witches and wizards (
insisting that everything be solved by magic )
But even though the muggle parents/families know these children are
wizards and witches these children are still not allowed to perform magic
at home, therefore, these muggles, although knowing that they are wizards,
don't know the extent of the power and magic that they posess. Once they
are out of school, I guess they figure that they are responsible enough
to decide when and where to use magic.
