I was finishing my re-read of the Chamber of Secrets last night, using my
new UK version. At the end, when Dumbledore is talking with just Harry and
Harry is concerned about his likenesses with Voldemort . . . Dumbledore
tells him that he can speak parseltongue because Voldemort put some
of his powers into Harry the night he killed Harry's parents. In that
passage, Dumbledore told Harry that "Lord Voldemort is the last remaining
descendant of Salazar Slytherin." In the UK version, he tells Harry that
Voldemort is the last remaining "ancestor" of Slytherin.

Typo? The American editors must have thought so. Or, is there more to
it than that? Hmmmmm . . .
