Hiya Monk,
No it isn't just you. I've spoken to quite a number of people and the
Mirror of Erised clue flew right by them as did quite a few other hints
in her books. I'm a big reader and love how words are used and am always
on the lookout for clues in names. And JK Rowling uses language in a
way to make the story more interesting to her readers. For instance,
remember Professor Lupin? His last name is a big clue to figuring out
what his problem is. I won't say anymore for those who haven't gotten
that far yet. And of course there is Tom Riddle. Once again, I won't
give anything away, but if you've read that far, you'll understand. She
uses word games like that a lot.
