It bothers me that you can often tell what a person is by their name. When
I read "Remus Lupin" for the first time, I immediately knew he was a
werewolf. (Remus from 'Romulus and Remus' the mythological twins that were
raised by wolves; and 'lupine' means wolf-like). You could guess that
"Sirius Black" would end up as a big black dog. Most of the Slytherins
have harsh-sounding names.

I realize that JKR was originally intending these books for children,
but I hope that in future books it won't be so obvious WHAT a person
is by what their name is. Spoils the fun! The names of the textbook
authors are humorous, because we usually don't meet them personally,
but I'd rather be left guessing as to the main characters. (of course,
I don't even want to THINK about the picture of a "hairy potter", LOL!)
