I, too, am (was) an sf fan -- I read a ton of books (altho' to me Deryni
was just okay) and was active in Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society
(where I met most of my friends) and went to numerous sf conventions. But
somehow I got *years* behind in reading books and found that Egyptology is
much higher priority than recent sf, and that I don't enjoy club meetings
or sf cons anywhere near as much now that I can't drink anymore....
And I'm not much of an rpg'er. Having found that I annoy gaming groups
whose members want my characters to follow some sort of rational strategy,
and that I'd rather sleep than play out combat in 30-second rounds,
I game with only one group of people (of whom I am the youngest except
for Kay's 14 year old daughter). Our one group plays several campaigns
and you may have read our adventures in ALARUMS AND EXCURSIONS, of which
I am not a member.
