"Are we expected to believe that someone who works in a bookshop would
not know the significance of Harry Potter books?"

Even if they did not know about the Harry Potter phenomenon then as it
was supposedly a large chain store then the manager should have warned
them about it. The stores were warned and should have acted to stop this
sort of thing from happening.

Scholastic has said they will receive no further HP books if the are
found to have sold this one early. A major chain would not risk this
happening. They would have put safe guards in place.

Also eight copies were supposedly on the shelf. Two have been accounted
for. Where are the rest? Why have we heard nothing about them? Why,
unless for finacial reasons, have this family come forward with there
copy of the book? Why now say they will not sell it? They seem to be
setting themselves up for a break in as their names and home town have
been in the press.
