I tried to read slowly. If I found myself skimming over certain
paragraphs, I went back and re-read them because sometimes just one
sentence will open up a whole new vista. What I found was that when
I started reading, I was very quickly mesmerized. The outside world
disappeared. When I finished it, I looked up and couldn't believe my
eyes - it was almost 2 a.m. I had absolutely no sense of the passage of
time. Believe me, there is so much in the book that re-reading it five
or ten times will still be an incredible experience.
