Hi:

<<<<I don't know about the rest of you, but after the first read-through,
I already have a list about a mile long of things I want to talk
about. There is so much new information in "Goblet" that we'll still be
discussing it a year from now when HP5 comes out.>>>

That's how I feel too. Someone on hpanonymous suggested a chapter by
chapter discussion. I think that makes alot of sense, at least for
me. Personally I'm so overwhelmed with things I want to discuss that I
don't know where to start. Oh . . except I really do want to start by
re-reading GoF immediately. <vbg>

<<<One thing for sure - this is not a children's book any longer. Perhaps
kids today have stronger stomachs than I do, but the final scene with
Voldemort was rather sickening.>>>>

I don't think it's a children's series anymore either. I think there are
kids out there who can & will read them, and I think that's great. But,
overall it seems to me it's becoming an older, more adult series. Maybe
that's just because of the whole NY Times issue. Wonder if that editor
has actually *read* the HP books. Grrr.

<<<A final note... I think Lori, in 'Paradigm of Uncertainty', has
captured the essence of how I envision the adulthood of the Harry Potter
I'm left with at the end of Book 4. This boy is ALONE, even with all
his allies. The war has been declared, and we know it's going to last
for at least the next few years.>>>>>>

I was really amazed that he had to go it alone so early -- and
a full-fledged confrontation with a strengthened Voldemort. I wasn't
looking for that yet. Makes you wonder what else is in store for our
beleagured hero. He had to grow up in a hurry in this one, didn't he?
