... and I thought it was great!
It cost me '8.99 and it took me about 17 hours to read it, but I took
several breaks. Finished it about an hour ago.
To answer a non-spoiler question, the UK has gone metric, but most
oldsters, like me, still think in feet, inches, miles and stones. JK
Rowling too, by the look of it: the thing mentioned earlier, that was
"four feet long"? The UK edition says "four foot long" - pretty much
the same.
Now some mildly spoiling comments - don't read them if you haven't read
the book.

I found the opening chapter and the Quidditch World Cup chapters quite
unexpected and stunning. What a way to open the book!
For me, the most upsetting thing was the fall-out between Harry and
Ron. The emotional ties between the three main characters were explored
very thoroughly, I thought.
The teaser about 'a death we'll care about' turned out to be a bit
misleading. I was expecting more, somehow, and I'm now wondering what
will happen in Book 5.
I hope there's more of the other teachers and students in future books
- they seemed a bit sidelined in this one. So many questions remained
unanswered (quite a few answered too though!!!)
Finally, the other the Patil twin surfaced! Perhaps JKR wrote her in
because of all the comments?
