Hi Nick:

<<<I'm torn between which one to write... while I feel the books are good,
I also feel that there is a lack of an official fan club, that Jo does
not appreciate that there are adult fans, and the publishers are making
little to no effort in providing fans with information.>>>

I think the adult fans have heretofore been underestimated, but I do
think we got some good publicity out of last weekend. There seem to have
been some journalists who picked up on the adult fan base and spread
the word. Hopefully that will increase. Hopefully people will begin to
realize that the books are no longer geared to that 9-12 age group. I
don't think GoF falls into that category anyway.

I have no opinions on whether JKR has done anything one way or another
re: this. It seems she has said in interviews that she really didn't set
out to write "children's books," which says to me that she acknowledges
that there could be appeal to adults.

What I really want is the NY Times to reverse its incredibly stupid
decision to remove the HP books to a separate "children's list." <vbg>
I think representatives from this list who live in NYC should make
an appeal to the Book Review Editor in person (and no, I'm not really
kidding . . . not so much anyway!).
