Professor Sinistra does "an ungainly two-step" with Moody at the Yule
Ball, but the sex is not revealed. Assuming she is a witch, they must
have looked pretty odd anyway.

Sinistra as a name suggests 'on the left' or perhaps, via sinister,
'evil'. It seems a bit obvious to make such a direct reference to someone
being BAD, but JKR is fairly transparent with such things. Is Sinistra
a baddie?

On the other hand, Sinistra's dance with the 'Scooby Doo' madman might
be the highlight of her scant appearances.

I agree that a strong female astronmer would be cool. Heather Couper
is the only female astronomer I can think of, and I doubt she's
internationally famous...
