I agree. Also, with the larger exchange rate, Harry would have spent
$16.30 on candy. If he bought a little of everything, that doesn't
sound too off the wall, especially for a kid who hasn't had any spending
money before.
Anyone remember "Big," where Tom Hanks got his first paycheck. I don't
remember the amount, but it was in the neighborhood of $200. To the
guy next to him (who was thinking of an "adult" budget), it seemed like
a ripoff. But to a kid (about Harry's age), it could buy the world. He
could (and did) buy all the junk food he wanted.
Just my two (or ten) cents.
