UP With - Down With J.K. Rowling
=================================

When I was a child I hated reading. Even last year, if you had asked
me whether I read books, I would have said: 'No'. But now things have
changed.
One day, I was helping a child with their school reading book and
I discovered I really liked the story. The author was, of course,
J.K. Rowling.
She has revolutionised reading, not just in the UK but around the
world. Children and adults, many of whom would never usually read fiction,
are enjoying the magical adventures of Harry, Hermione and Ron. But
why? It is because the books are easy to read, fun and they make your
imagination work overtime.
Because of J.K. Rowling, reading is now something a lot of adults and
children are doing for pleasure.

Reading the Harry Potter books is inspiring. If only J.K. Rowling herself
was. Why does she shum the public that loves her?
At her recent Press conference, promoting her new book, she ducked
out of the way when anyone approached her. Every opportunity to smile
was exchanged for a grimace. You would think meeting the public was a
death sentence. She has made millions from her books and is now one
of Britain's richest women. So she should be thanking her readers,
not avoiding them. Obviously, her enthusiasm is limited to writing.
Chear up, Rowling. We don't expect you to be humble. But a smile
wouldn't hurt.
