I agree that GoF is more "adult." As I was reading, I often reflected
that I wouldn't want my 10 year old reading this book. I suppose as
Harry gets older and more mature, the situations Harry finds himself in
must become more complex. The comments that some characters made did
not seem to be meant for 10yr olds and seemed to be a bit crude for a
young audience. Anyway, it makes sense that the content would change as
he matures. There was a comment in our newspaper today from a 10yr old
about how this book was definitely not for younger kids; the book is much
"spookier" than the previous ones. But hey... I will keep reading them. I
just finished book one again... to see what I missed and I can't believe
how much I missed.
