Hi:

<<<Unfortunately all this really tells us is that JKR wants Harry and
the rest of the cast to be British. I've known too many authors who have
had books who have had movies made from their books. More often than not,
the author was unhappy with how the movie turned out.

If WB decides the movie will do better in the theaters with an American
Harry or an American Snape then it probably will have them.>>>

Normally I would agree with you Skimmel. But, in this case, it's my
impression that she has an ace or two in the hole. That is -- if she's
not happy with the first movie, I do believe she has only sold WB
the rights to film the first 2 books. So, she has the ability to say,
"Fine. Do it your way, but you'll only get the first 2 movies and that's
it." So, I think they'll have an interest in keeping her happy.

I also have the impression (which could just be the lawyer in me coming
out) that JKR has contractually protected herself (her rights to veto
certain decisions for example). If I was her atty, that's something I
would have ensured (in any case).

Penny
