What did I find about book one that I liked and that I disliked?

Jk's way of turning phrases made you feel like you dived into the
swimming pool of the story. The passage of Dumbledore eating a vomit
flavored jelly bean, and then getting an ear wax one--I could picture
it in my mind, but I would really hate to eat those two flavors. The
description of the feel of playing Quidditch (does she get more indepth
on that in the later books btw, or is it about the same?) makes you feel
you are really there. I could feel the size and ancientness of Hogwarts
looming over my head, and how the boys are plopping in a tower, and the
rat's gnawing on Harry's pillow. I even liked that poltergeist fellow,
the one who was pulling up the rugs to make people trip--think I have
met his brethren, lol.

You love to hate Draco. Snape just almost drips with slime. I could
visually a huge chessboard and a knight leaning down to talk to the
three on the "third" level.

The magic, and the appeal of the book is quite vivid. (I also know
someone who'd be perfect for the role of Hagrid, but he's got red hair,
and is American--the natures are alike, though~). Who hasn't wanted to
see the bully get his, and that piggy tail on Dudley had me cracking
up. I can't wait to see how Harry and he get along during vacation.

I can also see a marked difference in Harry. He seems more sure of
himself, more certain of where he belongs in the world--perhaps that
comes from not living in a cupboard anymore?

I liked it very much. I can't wait to get to four so I can discuss
chapter by chapter with you guys!

GRINS WIDELY!!!!!!

Dee
