I don't think Hermione and Percy are really compatible. Percy appears
to be blindly loyal to rules and figures of authority. Hermione gave
that up in book 1.

Also I get the impression that Hermione studies because she enjoys the
process and the knowledge whereas Percy does it simply to get the job
he wants in the Ministry.

The interesting thing about Percy (and I can't believe I'm saying
there's anything interesting about Percy; I agree with his brothers that
he should be sealed up in a pyramid) is which side he will choose in
the coming events. It is obvious that his parents are going to support
Dumbledore, not Fudge. I would suspect that the rest of the family will
follow their lead. Except Percy. I just don't see him being able to go
against the Minister of Magic. So I'm wondering if we will see a split
in the Weasley family.

P.S. I am not one of those who thinks that just because he refuses
to believe that the Dark Lord is back, that Fudge is in cohorts with
him. Someone else mentioned Neville Chamberlain and he was exactly
the person that came to my mind. Or an ostrich who sees something that
frightens him and thinks that if he sticks his head in the sand, the
bad thing will go away.
