Salut !

I've got a paperback UK edition, and it reads "descendant".

My mother is very much into genealogy too so that I very early learned
not to say "ancestor" for "descendant". And that's when I began to notice
how many people actually do the mistake, and they won't understand when
I try to explain the difference. So maybe it is the *first editor* who
made a mistake, which was soon corrected afterwards, maybe by JKR herself.

It's just a possibility of course, but sorry, my very logical French
thinking cannot stand to read " the last remaining ancestor ".

Or again maybe it's reincarnation ...
