I got the feeling Harry didn't want to be one either. When the prefects'
bathroom is described in Book 4, Harry thinks something to the effect it
being worth being a prefect to be allowed to use this bathroom. That led
me to believe that though, he sees some of the perks, being a prefect
isn't exactly high on his wish list.
