I wrote the following to Mr. Corliss of the NT Times: I think that you
are being very unfair to a new writer. J.K. Rowling has tried very hard
to become a writer and has done a good job. Writing for Scholastic Books
is no small thing. They are an excellent publisher. Sure D. Steele is an
accomplished writer. Are you favoring the accomplished over the beginning
writers. For shame. I hope Rowling takes this to court and wins! David
