Whoops, sorry about that. The conversation between Sirius and Harry took
place on p.290 Cdn/UK edition.>>
I have a suggestion for an alternative to listing the page number. I'll
have to admit that it is less accurate, but it would be the same for
all editions.
Instead of saying "page 312 in version X," (which will send those with
version Y or Z scrambling for that post with the formula) how about
saying something like "Chapter 15, in the scene where _____"?
It's not as scientific, I know, but will get past the UK/US page number
differences. In fact, if I see a more descriptive reference to the scene,
I'll often simply remember it, even if I don't have the book available
to look it up.
But that's just me, and just a suggestion.
Melanie
PS: Wouldn't it be great if the chapters were divided into verses, like
the Bible, or into numbered scenes? Then, for example, 3:12:6 (meaning
book 3, chapter 12, verse or scene 6) would be the same in all versions.
