I think you're on the right track, but the logic in your answer seems
a bit flawed. It's a
non-exhaustive list; therefore, they *may* bring one of the 3 enumerated
animals but they
are not prohibited from bringing an animal not mentioned. That is, *if*
the list were
intended to be exhaustive, it would say, "Students may *ONLY* bring an
owl OR a cat OR a toad." (emphasis mine).
