Hi:
<<<re: the comment earlier this week about Danielle Steel being number
one on their new list-(if any of you are danielle steel fans, please
don't hate me for this) - I always thought Danielle Steel readers were
14-19 year old girls (i.e. mostly kids).>>>
Since the last Danielle Steele book I read was when I was about that age
(late high school or early college), I would tend to agree. Of course,
there's also the group of middle-aged women who come in & buy one of
each in the new shipments of Harlequin, Silhouette & other "churn em'
out by the dozen" romance publishers. They also tend to gravitate to
the Steele books. I worked in a WaldenBooks all through high school &
college -- those women would show up like clockwork at 10:00 a.m. once
a week when the new shipments would come in. Advance apologies to the
Harlequin romance fans who might be reading HP as well.
<<<I wonder if Scholastic wanted to do a survey of readers to find which
book had a higher average age - HP or the new DS book.>>>
Great idea. I'll mention that when I write them about the
ancestor/descendant typo issue. <g>
