<<Help and hello, in a space of a week, I've read four books.>>
Welcome to the club Jim (always glad to see another Brit here, as we
are in the minority!).
I'm sure we all empathise with your situation! Sadly, we do have to wait
another year for Book 5, but I find being involved in this club helps
to pass the time.
As for book recommendations, you'll find quite a few dotted throughout
the past messages here. Also, the Unofficial Harry Potter Club (in the
links section) had a whole list of books recommended by other HP readers
to pass the time before Book 4 came out - perhaps they are still there.
In my own case, I started exploring other 'children's' fantasy literature
to try to satisfy my hunger for more HP. I discovered Diana Wynne Jones,
for example, another brilliant fantasy writer who weaves magic into
her books. Like JKR, she's often classed as a children's writer but,
in truth, speaks to all ages.
I know some of the others here rave about Harry Potter fan fiction,
particularly one called "Paradigm of Uncertainty", but I have to confess
I haven't read it yet! Someone posted a link to the fanfic site a few
posts ago (probably a few hundred ago, knowing this group).
Anyway, good hunting...
Neil
