I don't think that Sirius is more emotional than Remus, really. I just
think that Remus doesn't show it. So yes, Remus is more remote. But that's
probably only natural. Being a werewolf leaves him very isolated. I'm
sure Remus has been shunned so much that he hesitates in building any
relationships. He's spent most of his life being thought untrustworthy
(Sirius has only spent--oh, 9 or 10 years being considered untrustworthy),
so he is unlikely to encourage Harry to put too much trust in him.
Also, because Sirius is more expressive, his personality is more likely
to welcome Harry's confidentiality. He seems to be more protective than
Remus does. Sirius is more prone to act, while Remus seems to be more
of a thinker. And I think Harry, despite his worry about Sirius coming,
probably did really want someone there who would be willing to act
impulsively on his behalf. It says he wanted someone like a parent--and
emotionally, Sirius was more like a parent than Remus.
And yes, I hope we see more of Remus, too. He's my favorite adult
character.
