<<<<Is there any type of school before Hogwarts? Or do kids have to go
to muggle schools before they turn 10/11 and go there?>>>>>

Maybe they are home schooled? If they went to muggle schools, all
the normal kids would probably think that the wizard kids were really
weird. And kids would have more trouble keeping the wizard world secret
than adults would. (Field trip? Are we getting there on broomsticks or
by Floo powder?)

<<<<<Also, how do small children already know things like transfiguration
(like when Fred and George turned Ron's bear into a spider)? If they
were able to do that as children, shouldn't McGonagall's class be a
piece of cake?>>>>>

I think the kids can do magic accidentally, but only under stress or
strong emotion or something. Fred (unsure, it might have been George)
was mad at Ron for breaking his broomstick, and Harry was about to be
caught by Dudley's gang when he appeared on the roof.

I wonder where the kids get more education in the reading, riting, and
rithmatic area. We don't see any professors teaching algebra or literature
or other things like that. I mean, these kids aren't learning anything
past elementary school stuff. Is this just an oversight on JKR's part?
