A ton of people have questioned that passage. You might want to discuss
it on http://www.egroups.com/messages/gobletoffire which is a list
for discussing Goblet of Fire. Most people assume that Dumbledore is
pleased because this event in some way made Voldemort vulnerable. Some
people think that Dumbledore was pleased merely that Harry had proved
strong enough to survive it, or that one of Dumbledore's predictions
had proved correct.
