I have a theory on which teacher is the head of Ravenclaw.

In the first book, there where six devices used to guard the stone,
each set up by a different teacher. It is reasonable, I feel, to assume
that all four heads of house were involved in the protection of the stone.

Sprout, McGonagal and Snape are definately heads of houses. This
leaves Dumbledore, Flitwick and Quirrel. Dumbledore is most likely
not a head, being that he must not appear biased in his duties as
heasdmaster. Quirrel, even if he was, which I doubt, is dead and I can't
see them passing of the house head job to a new guy each year. This
leaves Flitwick, which makes sense since he like to make objects fly
(My second favorite choice before I noticed the 6 traps was Hooch,
because she teaches flying).
