Thanks for that technical stuff, nlpnt...!
Yesterday, I wouldn't have had a clue what you were talking about, but
I looked around the 'net earlier today and found out that the 105E was
the later version of the Ford Anglia (and the one pictured on the UK
cover of COS).
In the book, the car is first described as "an old turquoise car" (I
think that answers your colour question, Nick) and I've discovered that
the very early versions of the Ford Anglia looked totally different to
the 1960s one (the 105E).
The earliest Ford Anglia seems to have been around in the late 1940s
(it was also called the Ford Popular) and looked a bit like a London
black taxi cab - large, and very rounded on top. Then there was one
that looked more like the 105E, smaller than the earlier car, but less
'pointy' at the back than the later one.
So, which model would it be? The 1960s one seems to be the best bet
(especially as it's turquoise - that's SOOOOO 1960s), but I think a
clapped-out 1940s model would better suit the Weasley family.
Anyway - enough about this! I'll let you know if I find one...
