"So, if I get this straight. Time can be changed only if the outcome
is uncertain."
I thought I'd entered a Star Trek nerds club by mistake!
So, how do we explain the fact that the outcome may be experienced
differently by different people in the same timeline?
Is it the case that anyone who witnessed the execution of Buckbeak
could not alter that outcome, but those who merely knew it happened
could alter it? And if they did alter the outcome, is it the case that
the people who actually witnessed it automatically enter an alternate
timeline? (the original scenario still playing out).
If we apply an uncertaintly principle to Book 4, should we assume that
anyone who does not know its title can still travel back through time,
phone JK Rowling and persuade her to call it something else? Do we have
to see the book, in front of us, before that situation is resolved? How
can we stop one of the four billion or so other people on this planet
from altering the timeline?
Er, I've confused myself now.
Neil
