Oh ... one more thing I have to mention...
On my book binge, I came across a book by Canadian Author Gordan
Korman. Upon reading his book "Losing Joe's Place" I came across a
character that really really resembles Hagrid in the "too big to be
allowed way"
This character's name is Rootbeer Racinette (Racinette being rootbeer
in french...rootbeer rootbeer, get it?) And he is always trying to find
hobbies to help him escape from 'executive burnout', going from blowing
the guiness book of world records biggest bubble gum bubble to playing
the harp. He's got the same sort of naive air about him that Hagrid can
have (Hagrid being naive when it comes to his exotic "pets" being poor
unfortunate cute things.. you know what i mean)
But for the most part Root beer is alittle more naive about himself
than Hagrid
I think what really made me pin the two together was the fact that
they are so comfortable with themselves. They're comfortable with their
largeness, and seemingly naive about how strange they are.
has anyone else read this book?
