Hmmmm - I certainly have time on my hands...

I was watching a UK daytime chatshow earlier ('Trisha' - a bit like 'Jerry
Springer', but much more polite) and the subject was "Fan or fanatic?" The
guests were people who were obsessed with singers/bands. For example,
they had a guy who sold his house so that he could follow Janet Jackson on
her tour of America (and he had a tattoo of Janet on his arm - yeuch!!!).

Q: How far have any of you been in the name of Harry Potter? Does anyone
feel they've gone a bit beyond fandom? Has anyone commented on your
behaviour? Have you been caught trying on pointed hats?

I see myself as a fairly modest fan. Okay, I check out this club every
single day and I just bought all the CD versions of the books, but I
wouldn't sell my parents into slavery in return for a ticket to ride on JK
Rowling's steam engine (she's touring British towns, doing book signings).

So, any fanatics out there? What's your worst Harry Potter excess?

Neil
