On the topic of being overlooked, it's worth stating the obvious - not
every message creates a thread. I've often posted messages that just sat
there, unloved (and so has every one of us, I imagine). I've also ignored
fabulous questions posed by others and selfishly gone my own merry way.
Which I'm about to do again...
This thing about Harry *having* to stay with the Dursleys every summer
is my No.1 dilemma at the moment. I've had a thought though - maybe it
has nothing to do with the Dursleys at all. Maybe it's '4 Privet Drive'
that is somehow protecting Harry from Voldemort. Could Dumbledore have
placed a protective spell on the house?
Otherwise, I can't see the point of placing Harry with his Muggle
relatives as a baby, leaving him with no knowledge of his own magical
powers, as a sitting duck for Voldemort.
Logic would have placed Harry with a witch family and had him develop
his magical powers as early as possible, so he could defend himself.
Sorry if this theory is (a) repeating something posted before, (b)
missing something really obvious or (c) too ****ing long to read.
Neil
