People may act like stupid idiots at Hogwarts, but even those
"idiots" seem to do well on their final exams. Crabbe and Goyle, the
Neanderthals, pass their tests (and I imagine there is a "no cheating"
spell in force). And WHY was bumbling pseudo-Squib Neville placed in
Gryffindor? Obviously, because he has hidden talent, hidden reserves of
bravery, and (as someone has so intelligently posted before) he merely
LACKS CONFIDENCE in himself. He has the POTENTIAL, the Sorting Hat could
see it.

I still think Hogwarts is reserved for the best of the magical students,
like Harvard, Yale and Stanford here in the USA (no offense to any else's
alma mater).
