Hello all. I am a new member but I feel like an old one because I just
waded through all the posts. (I have this sickness where I have to do
things in order... It just drives me crazy to skip things!)

I would like to answer the question about how I got into Harry Potter. My
mother read the books and then read them to her 5th grade class (10 - 11
year olds) She loves the books and would tell me how much her students
enjoyed them. She started getting essays and assignments and stories
written by the students involving Harry and his friends.
I always have to be reading something, like some other members of this
group, so I was in the grocery store one day, saw the paper back version
of book 1 and picked it up. The rest is history as they say.

As to books that I enjoy reading.. I have many different interests. But
one that I have not seen mentioned here is the Myth Adventures by Robert
Aspirin. These are definitely not children's books however. I highly
recommend the first *four* books starting with Another Fine Myth. There
are ten books total. I could possibly stretch my recommendation to six,
but not much beyond that.

I have really enjoyed reading the posts and look forward to participating
in this group.
