Roleplay: "There is a tendency there to not use the uppercased letters
as speed is important--the opponent tends to kill you if you take that
extra stroke to find the shift key"
**This is what I was getting at earlier, when I talked about 'Internet
Esperanto' - a new language.
Perhaps it's a difficult habit to drop for some of you, but you've
hopefully noticed by now that this *isn't* a RPG group and we're not
waiting to kill you if you don't blast your message onto the page in
under 3 seconds!
"One explained about (SP?) dyxclesia, and said that she had a problem
putting the letters in the right order sometimes"
**She was talking about dyslexia. Some people have a genuine difficulty
in spelling and sorting out the order of letters. They invariably have
difficulty in reading as well.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I don't think any of us
expects every word to be perfect, and if someone has dyslexia, we need
to make allowances for that; it's a serious condition. However, in most
cases, dyslexia is not the problem, it's laziness.
Let's use an analogy here. If you relocated to France, would you continue
speaking in English and make no attempt use French?
"Sorry mate, I haven't got time to learn French properly, so I'll just
speak in English and you can translate it."
No, of course not! Eventually you'd realise that you could communicate
more effectively if you learned some French and started using it.
In short, 'when in Rome, do as the Romans do'.
