Neil, I am extremely grateful to you. I have seeking the name and author
of that book for over 20 years now, since I left the caring arms of the
branch library where I borrowed it. (Of course, I also read gone away
lake!) I adored the book for the characters. I always wanted to be a
witch, and it just seemed the perfect world.
I guess, since most that list fits, I classify as a grownup? I even
watched the moon rocket (from a high chair, though!) according to my mom.
Cobol ancient? I just spent 3 semesters studying that language, and it's
what I plan to be doing with the next few years of my life. Replacing
the aged programmers who have had enough of it! LOL!
(OH, for those who aren't "chatty-- sometimes <g> or <j/k> indicates
actions in postings and chat, sometimes folks use asteriks, and other
people like me just type. <j/k> means just kidding, LOL is laughing out
loud, and ROTFLMAO means rolling on the floor laughing my ass off. I
started in the BBS days, before being introduced to the internet, so
we did things differently there too. I am restructuring my mind, trust
me. I am very good in English--it's just a mental thing when I sit at a
keyboard I lapse into "teenage rping mentality". Going to classes again
has helped immensely--teachers tend to want properly written papers when
you are getting a grade on them!
I will try not to annoy folks, I promise.
(And RPing is fun! If you are an imaginative type, I swear, give it
a shot!)
:)
Dee
